Our staff came to the centre one day to find a rice bag left by the gates. Inside they found this tiny kitten, abandoned in the hope it would still be alive when we returned. Luckily this tiny miracle is alive and well, living at ARC.

No matter how many times we ask people never to leave animals unattended at our gate, this still happens on a weekly basis. This little kitten was fortunate, but with the extreme temperatures in India, nearby predators and their lack of ability to find safety and necessities, it's something we actively try to discourage. Additionally any animal can be potentially carrying a disease that risks the safety of every other non human animal at ARC. We also need to find funds to feed and provide medical treatment for any animal left with us. As much as people are fundamentally acting out of kindness by bringing animals to us, we still need help raising awareness of the best way people can show their kindness.
